
Casey Mason
Director of Energy & Sustainability

Casey Mason is a Maryland native and has been leading energy and sustainability initiatives at Sabey Data Centers since April 2021. With a decade of experience in the energy and sustainability space, Casey brings expertise in carbon-free energy strategy, carbon accounting, and sustainable operations. At Sabey, she has driven major progress on the company’s sustainability commitments, advancing programs that improve transparency, enhance performance, and support the company’s path toward long-term environmental goals. She works closely with customers and partners to align Sabey’s sustainability programs with evolving industry expectations and has been instrumental in directing Sabey’s long-term sustainability strategy.
Casey began her journey in sustainability with the non-profit Pick Up America, traveling across the country as a “trash-tern” to remove litter from roadways and communities. That hands-on experience inspired her to pursue a career in environmental science. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science and Technology from the University of Maryland, College Park. While at UMD, she conducted research in the university’s prestigious environmental engineering lab, studying waste-to-energy processes to help farmers utilize clean energy in their operations.
In her free time, Casey finds joy in spending time with her husband and daughter, cooking up delicious food, exploring the outdoors, and reading.


Michael Whitlock is the General Manager of Sabey Data Centers, Ashburn. In this role Michael is responsible for the overall success of the campus along with generating revenue by ensuring low churn and excellent customer service to both new and existing customers. He is a driven and dedicated professional leader with over 25 years of experience in the government, commercial and critical infrastructure industry and has tremendous success devising win-win solutions by leveraging strategic partnerships.
Prior to joining Sabey, Michael served as the East Coast Director of Facilities at CoreSite.
Michael loves to golf and hit the open road on his Harley but mainly loves to spend quality time with his family.


Ryan Monson is the General Manager of Sabey Data Centers – Seattle, bringing over a decade of experience with the company and a background in electrical construction. He leads initiatives to enhance client satisfaction, maximize occupancy, drive campus development and ensure financial growth. Previously, he served seven years as Data Center Operations Manager, overseeing end-to-end operations with a focus on 100% uptime, energy efficiency and mission-critical equipment commissioning.
Before joining Sabey, Ryan spent 14 years as a journeyman electrician, managing large-scale electrical projects throughout Washington. His blend of technical expertise, operational leadership and strategic insight continues to drive innovation and excellence in Sabey’s critical infrastructure operations.


Laura Freytag is the Vice President of Business Operations at Sabey Data Centers, responsible for driving operational excellence across customer service, security, compliance, training, and purchasing. Laura joined Sabey in 2013 and has grown her career within the organization, working her way into her current executive role. She is passionate about building strong teams, improving processes, and ensuring consistent, high-quality service for customers. Laura holds a Bachelor of Arts from Pacific Lutheran University and a Master’s in Leadership from City University of Seattle.
In her free time, Laura enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, traveling, and reading.


Diane Reynolds is the Operations Center Manager at Sabey Data Centers, with over three decades of leadership and management experience. She is passionate about building strong teams, improving processes, and delivering outstanding customer service. Diane leads the Operations Center, supporting both internal teams and Sabey’s data center customers.
When she’s not working, Diane loves being outdoors and spending time with her family.


Krystal Devine is the Training Manager at Sabey Data Centers and a member of the Business Operations Team, supporting teams across Sabey’s Data Center portfolio. During her eight years with Sabey, she has grown from Administrative and Purchasing Coordinator into her current role, where she oversees training programs designed to improve performance, increase productivity, reduce risk, and support strategic objectives.
Krystal enjoys traveling to Sabey’s Data Center sites to facilitate Thought Patterns for High Performance and connect with teams and new hires. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband Shaun Devine—Sabey Data Center’s Director of Operations, West—and their two teenage daughters.


Cris Engel serves as Vice President of Data Center Operations at Sabey Data Centers, where he has led teams for more than 15 years with a relentless focus on reliability, consistency, and operational excellence. Under his leadership, Sabey has maintained industry-leading standards across a diverse national footprint, ensuring mission-critical performance for some of the world’s most demanding customers.
Cris believes that excellence starts with people. He has built a culture of accountability and precision where every site—whether a flagship campus or a remote facility—operates with the same discipline and reliability. His approach combines rigorous processes, continuous improvement and a commitment to customer trust, ensuring that Sabey delivers not just uptime, but confidence and peace of mind.


Dave Buckner has been with Sabey Data Centers for 16 years, leading a team tasked with ensuring effective delivery of data center capacity. This includes overseeing engineering efforts, driving innovation in facility design, and managing the development of technologies to enhance data center performance.
Previously, Dave served 21 years in the U.S. Navy as a submarine nuclear power plant operator where he honed discipline, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in high-pressure environments.
In his spare time, Dave enjoys horseback riding.


Shaun Devine serves as the Director of Operations–West at Sabey Data Centers, bringing leadership and operational expertise since joining the company in 2018. With a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Management, he has played a key role in establishing and facilitating the Sabey Leadership Development Program, supporting the growth of future leaders within the organization. Shaun manages mission-critical operations across Sabey’s western portfolio while actively engaging with community organizations that strengthen education and workforce development. He and his wife, Krystal—who began her career at Sabey before him—value being part of the company’s shared commitment to people and performance.


David LeTourneau serves as Director of Operations East for Sabey Data Centers, bringing over 30 years of experience in managing and operating critical infrastructure. He oversees site operations for Sabey’s Ashburn, Austin, and New York facilities and leads the company’s controls team supporting data center performance and reliability across the portfolio.

Brooke Mitchell serves as Director of Compliance for Sabey Data Centers, where she leads the company’s compliance program to ensure alignment with customer, regulatory, and industry security requirements. In her role, Brooke focuses on building standardized, practical compliance processes that support the business, manage risk, and scale effectively across multiple data center locations. She works closely with internal teams, customers, and auditors, translating complex compliance requirements into clear, actionable expectations.
Prior to joining Sabey Data Centers, Brooke built her career in compliance and legal roles across both private and government sectors. She brought that experience to the data center industry to expand her work into new environments and deepen her expertise across complex compliance frameworks. At Sabey, Brooke partners with teams across the organization to advance compliance program maturity and support consistently strong audit outcomes.
Brooke holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Oklahoma State University and earned her Juris Doctor, with a focus on Healthcare and Sustainability, from the University of Tulsa College of Law.
Based in Sabey’s Ashburn, Virginia office, Brooke enjoys traveling with her husband and taking advantage of everything the Washington, D.C. area has to offer, from local shows to sporting events. Outside of work, she enjoys reading and staying active through pickleball.
