At Sabey Data Centers, sustainability is fundamental to everything we do. We know that powering the digital economy comes with both great responsibility and great opportunity. That’s why we partnered with ENERGY STAR®, the government-backed symbol of energy efficiency, to ensure our facilities deliver on both performance and environmental stewardship.
ENERGY STAR is known for helping consumers identify efficient appliances and electronics, but it also sets the gold standard for environmental performance in commercial buildings, including data centers. Facilities that earn ENERGY STAR certification perform among the top 25% of similar buildings nationwide for energy efficiency and meet strict industry benchmarks set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
For data centers, achieving this recognition demonstrates more than efficiency; it reflects careful attention to infrastructure design, operations, monitoring and continuous improvement. At Sabey, we consistently rank at the highest levels for building certifications. A minimum score of 75 signifies that a building outperforms at least 75% of similar data centers, and our facilities routinely score up to 100 on the scale. Our partnership with ENERGY STAR validates our ongoing commitment to deliver reliable capacity and resiliency while minimizing environmental impact.
Designing for Sustainable and Efficient Operations
While ENERGY STAR certification is an important milestone, it represents just one element of our broader efforts to reduce environmental impact and operate responsibly. Sustainability is an ongoing priority woven into every aspect of how our facilities are designed, built and managed.
Our campuses incorporate innovative cooling methods to dramatically reduce reliance on mechanical systems. We also prioritize water conservation, carefully managing consumption through efficient technologies. At the same time, our investments in renewable energy ensure that a growing percentage of the power supporting our data centers comes from clean, sustainable sources, such as hydropower.
From modular layouts that minimize waste, to scalable electrical and mechanical infrastructure designed for growth, we engineer facilities that can adapt to changing customer needs while conserving resources. Once operational, our teams continually optimize systems, ensuring that efficiency gains are sustained over time.
Looking to the Future
As many of our customers begin to set ambitious environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals of their own, we’re committed to helping them meet those benchmarks. By providing energy- and resource-efficient environments for workloads, we enable customers to reduce their operational impact and demonstrate leadership in climate responsibility. At Sabey, our vision for sustainability is long-term and all-encompassing. One of our goals is to achieve net-zero carbon across our Scope 1 and Scope 2 carbon emissions by 2029. From that goal to expanding renewable procurement, we are continually seeking ways to serve the digital world while maintaining the health of the natural one.
