Big power, low impact. Sabey’s 30MW expansion across Seattle and Columbia is fueling the Pacific Northwest’s digital future—sustainably.
As digital transformation accelerates across industries, the Pacific Northwest stands at the forefront of the data-driven future. Sabey Data Centers is answering the call for sustainable, scalable, and secure digital capacity with a significant new investment: a 30-megawatt (MW) expansion across its Seattle and Columbia campuses, set to come online in late 2025. This strategic growth not only addresses the surging demand for digital infrastructure but also reinforces Sabey’s long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship and operational excellence.
The Pacific Northwest has become a magnet for cloud, AI, and enterprise deployments, thanks to its renewable energy resources and robust connectivity. In the last two decades, the region has seen the establishment of hundreds of data centers, ranging from 4,000 to 4 million square feet. Sabey’s expansion delivers much-needed solutions for today’s enterprise, with flexible, future-ready environments engineered for both high performance and sustainability.
By December 1, 2025, Sabey’s flagship Seattle campus will add 6MW of Tier III-standard critical power. Located in the region’s largest metropolitan hub, this facility is powered entirely by carbon-free electricity from Seattle City Light. The campus is designed for efficiency, with an average estimated Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.5. This demonstrates Sabey’s dedication to minimizing energy waste while maximizing uptime.
Starting November 1, 2025, the Columbia campus will offer an additional 5.5MW of Tier III-standard critical power. Renowned for its use of low-cost, renewable hydropower, this site delivers an exceptionally low total cost of ownership, with energy rates under $0.05 per kilowatt-hour and a best-in-class average PUE of 1.2. The Columbia campus is built for growth, with another 9MW scheduled for late 2026 and an additional 9MW planned for early 2028, ensuring that customers can scale seamlessly as their needs evolve.
Sabey’s expansion isn’t just about adding capacity; it’s about building a greener digital future. The company has pledged to achieve net-zero carbon emissions across its Scope 1 and Scope 2 operations by or before 2029. This latest expansion is a direct response to the Pacific Northwest’s escalating need for digital infrastructure that is not only powerful and reliable but also environmentally responsible.
Whether customers are seeking lower total cost of ownership, world-class interconnection, or the ability to scale rapidly, Sabey’s Seattle and Columbia campuses deliver the flexibility and performance that modern enterprises demand. As technology evolves and demand for data accelerates, Sabey remains committed to providing the infrastructure that empowers growth while protecting the planet.
